Los Angeles Secondary Music Teacher's Association is made up, primarily, of Music Teachers in Los Angeles Unified School District who are working toward promoting a deeper appreciation of and
a wider participation in music. This is achieved through Teacher mentoring, networking, sharing of ideas, practices, and information by which secondary music teachers can effectively work toward their own professional growth, in general, and improvement in teaching skill. The organization serves as a forum for the advocacy of Education and of Music in our schools. Lastly, LASMTA organizes annual events and opportunities to develop a higher level of musical achievement and performance among the students of our secondary schools.
